Renting storage during a move? Between leaving your old home and getting the keys to your new place there's often a gap: a sold home you have to hand over, a private-sector lease ending, or a delayed completion date. Instead of double-renting, parking everything at family's, or hiring a van for a week, we pick up your entire household at your old address, store it safely at our climate-controlled hub and bring it back to your new address — whenever you say it's time. Storage during a move — how do you bridge the gap between two homes?
Classic self storage means driving yourself to a storage facility on an industrial estate — with a rented van, a lot of carrying and a weekend lost. Mobile storage flips it around: we come to your old home and load everything up. No van, no extra trip, no detour via parents or friends. We carry up to and including the second floor without a lift; from the third floor up a furniture lift is required, which you can book through us as an extra service. Storage lasts as long as you need — cancellable by the month, even when your new key date is uncertain in advance. Return delivery works the same as pickup: as soon as your new keys are in hand you schedule the delivery. Even phased or to multiple addresses if that's easier. We drive across the Netherlands and Belgium.
When do people rent storage during their move?
A few common scenarios: a buy-and-sell overlap where your old home is sold but the new one isn't ready yet. A private-sector lease ending on a fixed date while your new rental only starts weeks later. Renovation work at your new address where your belongings need to be out for 2-3 months while the builders are at work. A delayed new-build completion where the planned key handover has moved by weeks or months. Or a phased move where you bring half over first and the rest later (e.g. because painting or plastering is still going on). For each scenario: cancellable by the month, no annual contract, no penalties on delays. Tip: during the busy moving months (June–September) schedule at least 4 weeks ahead to lock in your preferred date.
Which storage size suits my move?
A one-room apartment or studio usually fits in X-Small (4–12m³): bed, sofa, dining table, wardrobe, a few boxes. An apartment or 2–3 room home more often needs Small (14–24m³): the basic contents plus extra furniture, white goods, bikes and boxes. A townhouse or full family home generally fits Medium (26–36m³): full contents including large furniture and white goods. For a detached home or large contents, Large (38–48m³) is safer — and with multiple units combined, up to 500m³. Unsure of the right size?
