Salverda Bouw

For the large-scale renovation and roof-extension project at the Romeinenbaanflats in Wijk bij Duurstede, we provide four rounds of storage for residents. Per building 96 containers, four buildings in sequence — a project where Inbox service meets Kubox containers.

The project in brief

Residents of a renovation flat need to move their entire household out while the contractor works on the bathroom, toilet, piping and insulation. That's a logistical puzzle — not just some storage, but hundreds of residents who need to load and unload in phases, while knowing their belongings are safe in between. Four things that define this project:

Four buildings, four rounds, phased plan

The Romeinenbaanflats consist of four buildings: Birka, Witla, Kaupang and Karolinger. Per building we deliver 96 storage containers, spread across multiple days in groups of about 25. Each group gets 4 days to load. That avoids peak strain on the construction site and keeps the schedule predictable for Salverda.

Six months in a sealed container

Once loaded, the container is locked and driven straight to our secure, climate-controlled storage. Six months per round. We don't transfer or redistribute belongings — whatever the resident loads stays in the same sealed unit until it returns. Less risk, fewer questions, and a clean liability line for the housing association and contractor.

One list, room for extra needs

Not every resident fits in two containers. Some need a third, want extra insurance, or order moving boxes and protective material in advance. We track all of that centrally in one clear list, with fixed rates per add-on. That keeps things transparent per household for Salverda and the housing association, and simple to top up for the resident.

Inbox service, Kubox containers

We sell and manage this project under Inbox Storage — with project coordination, a fixed point of contact and all admin per household. But the containers on the kerb come from our sister brand Kubox: modular 10m³ boxes, stackable and suited to bulk delivery. Two brands side by side, each doing what it does best. For Salverda it's one contract, one point of contact, one invoice stream.

Why this type of project fits us

Renovation projects with temporary resident storage have two sides. To the contractor it's construction logistics: planning, phasing, certainty that containers arrive and leave on schedule. To the resident it's more personal — their whole life temporarily goes in a box. We sit right on that line. The combination of Inbox's service DNA and Kubox's standard containers lets us handle projects of this scale without the resident having to imagine a single planning meeting. Romeinenbaan is our first collaboration with Salverda — a contractor that handles this kind of renovation project regularly. For us it's a project at full scale right out of the gate: 384 containers, the same phased plan four rounds in a row.
