Since winter 2023 we've handled the winter storage of their summer terrace — furniture, LuminAir installations, parasols, everything that can't stay outside in winter. In spring we deliver it back neatly. Three winter seasons running: a long-term partnership that springs into action every year.
HOW THE TERRACE GETS THROUGH WINTER.
DoubleTree by Hilton on Oosterdoksstraat has a large terrace filled most of the year with furniture, parasols and atmosphere installations. As soon as the season ends, it all has to come off the terrace — out of the rain, out of sight, protected from wind and moisture. We pick it up, store it climate-controlled in our Gouda hub, and deliver it back when the terrace reopens. Below: how this partnership runs every year and why it works for a hotel chain.
1. THE SEASONAL ROUTINE.
At the end of the season (usually October/November) the hotel schedules a date for us to clear the terrace. Our driver arrives with a truck, we inventory what's stored, and pack everything carefully — covers go on the LuminAir installations, furniture in blankets and stretch wrap, fragile items marked separately. At return (spring) the same in reverse: everything back neatly to the right spot on the terrace.
2. WHAT'S STORED.
The complete terrace furniture — lounge sets, tables, chairs, parasols. Plus the LuminAir atmosphere installations (illuminated outdoor modules) with their covers and base brackets. For a hotel like DoubleTree we're talking several tens of cubic metres — more than an average household, organised so we can return per item what belongs where.
3. WHY A HOTEL CHOOSES US.
A hotel can't organise winter storage itself — no rooftop space, no climate-controlled facility, no time for logistics during an already busy operational year. External storage with us means: one date, one driver, one appointment in spring, and it's all sorted. Insurance included during transport and storage. No space-hunting, no key-sharing, no negotiating with multiple suppliers.
4. WHY WE TAKE ON HOSPITALITY PROJECTS.
Hospitality is recurring, predictable volume — no one-off customer, but a seasonal cycle we can plan in advance. For us that's ideal: we know in October a big load is coming in, in March that same load is going back out. That brings stability to our hub capacity and long-term trust with customers like DoubleTree.
