What do you want to know about expat storage?

The whole process is set up so you can manage it remotely. Book online from abroad — we communicate in English or Dutch. On pickup day our drivers come to your address in the Netherlands and load everything into mobile units (you or someone you nominate just needs to open the door). Your belongings then go sealed to our secure, climate-controlled hub. Through your online account you manage everything: view invoices, extend storage, schedule return, update contact details. We send all communication by email or WhatsApp. On your return, simply schedule the return delivery and we bring everything to your new address. No need for a physical appointment at our office.

For a full household contents you usually need Medium to Large — depending on what you take abroad and what stays in the Netherlands. A 3-room flat with most furniture and belongings typically fits in Medium (16-24 m³). A 4-5 room single-family home or larger expat household quickly needs Large (32 m³ or more). For international moves where everything is temporarily stored until your Dutch address is ready, we often combine multiple units — we handle up to 500 m³. No problem — manage it entirely online through your account. Schedule a return delivery to the Dutch address where your belongings should go and provide a time slot. Flight arriving as planned? Schedule delivery for the day after your arrival. Want a friend, family member or landlord to receive the delivery? Add a contact person at booking and we'll coordinate directly with them. You can also have it delivered in phases: e.g. a first load to a temporary address and the rest two weeks later to your permanent home. Everything manageable through one account, even from a time zone on the other side of the world. We're happy to think along if your timing is complex.

Rates start from €39 per month for X-Small and go up to €180 for Large — those are 12-month commitment prices. For expats, a 12-month commitment is almost always the smartest choice: lower monthly rate, fixed pricing for the whole secondment period, no need to manage extensions. Secondment ends earlier? No problem, you can return early at the remaining-period rate. Plus: for those who want fully hands-off, the Premium package (2 crew) is worth it — they carry everything out of the house, organize the unit and load it all. When do expats need storage in the Netherlands?

A few common scenarios. Arriving in the Netherlands for a new role: your shipment arrives from your home country before your permanent apartment is ready, often via the Port of Rotterdam or Schiphol — we pick it up there or from your temporary AirBnB. Going on temporary assignment elsewhere: leaving your Dutch home for 6-24 months means subletting your apartment and storing your personal items safely. Between Dutch rentals: a fixed-term lease ending while your new place starts weeks later — common in Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht where housing turnover is high. Sabbatical or extended travel: keep your belongings safe in the Netherlands while you're away. Returning home permanently: store furniture and personal items in the weeks before your international move-out. For each: month-to-month rental, no annual contract, manage everything from your account in English.

How storage works when you're new in the Netherlands

Booking is straightforward: enter your postcode online, see your transparent monthly rate, choose your service package and pickup date. All communication in English or Dutch — quotes, invoices, online account, support via email and WhatsApp. On pickup day our drivers come to your Dutch address — your temporary apartment, AirBnB or shipping address — and load everything into sealed mobile units. We carry up to the 2nd floor without a lift; for higher floors we arrange a moving lift. Your belongings then go to our secured hub in Gouda: climate-controlled, camera surveillance 24/7, alarm, and only our staff have keys. Through your online account you can extend storage, schedule a return delivery, view invoices and update contact details — at any time, from any time zone. Return delivery works the same way: we bring everything to your new Dutch address.

Long-term rates, insurance and how much fits

Storage costs start from €39 per month for X-Small (4 m³, suited to personal items or a small room), €74 for Small (8 m³, a studio or 1-room apartment), €142 for Medium (16 m³, a 2-3 room apartment) and €180 for Large (24 m³, a full Dutch household). These are 12-month commitment rates — for expats on a multi-year assignment, this is usually the smartest choice (lower monthly rate, fixed price across your secondment). Need more? We combine units up to 500 m³, ideal for international moves. Pickup and delivery are included for 3 months or longer within the Randstad. Insurance: your belongings are insured during transport and storage; for valuable items (>€500/piece or total >€2,500) and delicate pieces (art, antiques, instruments), let us know in advance so we can pack and register them properly. Transparent monthly invoicing in English, payable by SEPA direct debit or card.
