Renting storage during a renovation? A kitchen, bathroom or dormer project often calls for a clear workspace: furniture, cabinets and delicate items need to go to avoid damage from dust, contractors or moisture. Instead of parking it all at family's or driving it out yourself in a rented van, we pick up your contents at home, store them safely at our climate-controlled hub and return them once the dust has settled. Insured storage, cancellable by the month, with the option to extend if the contractor overruns.
When is storage during a renovation smart?
A few common scenarios: a kitchen renovation where your entire kitchen layout plus dining area needs to be cleared for the installer. A bathroom project where furniture in the adjacent bedroom also needs protection from dust and water. A floor renovation or plaster work where entire floors are cleared before the workers begin. A dormer or extension where the attic or a whole floor needs to be empty for the builders. Or a complete renovation of a newly bought home where the entire contents need to be out for 2-3 months. Tip: schedule the pickup at least 1 week before work starts — that way the builders have an empty workspace from day one and you have no stress on the way.
How long does it take and what does it cost?
Renovations often overrun. A kitchen scheduled for 2 weeks becomes six weeks; a dormer project of one month becomes a season. That's why you rent with us from 1 month, cancellable monthly — no annual contract, no penalties if the contractor finishes earlier, no stress on delays. Start with the planned renovation period plus 2-4 weeks buffer, and simply extend month-by-month via your account if it runs longer. Rates start from €39 per month for X-Small (4 m³, suited to a kitchen or bathroom), €74 for Small (8 m³), €142 for Medium (16 m³) and €180 for Large (24 m³) — with a 12-month commitment. Pickup and delivery are included for 3 months or longer within the Randstad. You only pay for the time your belongings are actually with us, not a day more.
What about insurance and security?
Your belongings are kept at our climate-controlled, secured hub: 24/7 camera surveillance, alarm, and only our staff have keys. No damage from dust, moisture or contractors — exactly the reasons people rent storage during a renovation. During transport and storage your belongings are insured; ask us what coverage suits your situation. For valuable items (>€500/piece and total >€2,500) or delicate items (antiques, art, instruments) let us know in advance, so we can pack and register them appropriately.
