Storage during your renovation — how to make room

Before you start, walk through your home and think ahead. What absolutely has to be out of the way before the contractor can begin? What often goes into storage:

• Furniture in the rooms being plastered or painted
• Cabinets and dressers where walls come out
• Books and electronics — they don't survive dust or moisture well
• Anything that can't handle a paint splash or debris

• Whole floor cleared for a thorough renovation → medium
• Full inventory for a full-house job → large + expandable
